CONCEPT MAPPING
Used in course design, concept mapping connects learning objectives to assessment. Concept mapping can also be used as assessment to determine student learning. We were asked to create a concept map using free inspiration software, but I was unable to save my finished product as a jpeg, and therefore couldn't transfer it to my blog. So, I had to redo the whole thing in a format I could use, and chose to use Microsoft Word's Smart Art to create my concept map. The file is below.

- Write 3 learning objectives for your present or future online course. Not all course objectives - but instead 3 that might be used in one Module or Module 1, 2 & 3 or other of your course.
- Apply these learning objectives to your concept map.
- Then associate a titled activity to each learning objective. You do not need to provide details of the activity.
- Then connect an assessment to each of the learning objectives in your concept map.
- In the concept map, show the relationship between the learning objectives, planned activities and assessment plans/tools. (Remember that this map is acting as an 'outline' for your actual online course plans and some form of this map will be added as a piece of your final project for this course).
- When you have created this concept map, upload it to your blog. The instructor will review your efforts from your blog. (Please note that, in order to upload the concept map to your blog, you will need to save it as a jpeg or gif image).
***Using the Inspiration 9 download, I created this concept map, saved as both a jpeg and gif image. However, it had to be exported in that format, not saved, and therefore would not download to this site. It did allow me to save as a pdf and in its original format , so both are included here to view. I spent WAY too much time with their online help people trying to get this to work, and finally let it go.***
