PLAGIARISM AWARENESS
Plagiarism plagues schools at every level in every country all around the world. It will not be tolerated in this course. If and when you use a resource from the course materials or from another source, you must cite who and where the source came from. For our class purposes, we will use MLA formatting when citing sources.
If you are unsure about formatting, great online resource for MLA formatting is Purdue Owl. Use this guide that your sources might be correctly cited.
To fight plagiarism, there are many programs that can detect if someones writing is their own. While we will not be doing extensive writing, the writing you will be expected to complete must be your own. If you use content from another website for any projects you will create in this course, you must cite the web page. The importance of this has to do not only with ethical issues, but also with acknowledgement of ownership and authorship of material. This is a good time to review how to write your own paper, and how to gather information and turn it into excellent work that is indeed something you can be proud to call your own.
